Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (Days & Nights – 7am–7pm / 7pm–7am)
About the Role
We’re looking for 3 x Maintenance Electricians to join the team on a major NHS contract at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
This is a hands-on role working across a live hospital environment, delivering planned and reactive maintenance to ensure critical services remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
You’ll be part of a shift team responsible for maintaining electrical systems across acute hospital areas, including theatres, ICU, A&E, and wider estate facilities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
- Fault finding, testing, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
- Working to HTM standards, health & safety regs, and site procedures
- Using CAFM systems to manage and complete tasks accurately
- Supporting compliance, audits, and inspections across the estate
- Assisting with breakdown response and minimising downtime
- Working in critical areas such as operating theatres, ICU, and A&E
- Ensuring all work meets contract KPIs and service levels
What We’re Looking For
- Fully qualified electrician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- Experience in maintenance within critical environments (hospital, FM, industrial, etc.)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work shifts (days & nights on rotation)
- Comfortable working in sensitive environments
Desirable (Not Essential)
- 2394 / 2395 Testing & Inspection
- Healthcare or PFI experience
- HV/LV experience or AP/CP status
- IOSH / NEBOSH or similar
- Experience with CAFM systems
