We are recruiting on behalf of an established and growing furniture and bespoke joinery manufacturer based in Stoney Stanton.
Due to continued growth and a strong order book, our client is looking to add a Furniture Assembly & Finishing Operative to their factory team.
This is a hands-on role working on high-quality, bespoke furniture and joinery products for commercial, retail and hospitality projects.
The Role
Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you will be involved in the final assembly, fitting and finishing of bespoke furniture before it is prepared for delivery and installation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assembling furniture, cabinets, display units and bespoke joinery products
- Fitting hinges, handles, drawer runners, fixings and other hardware
- Carrying out final finishing and preparation work
- Checking completed items against drawings and specifications
- Identifying and rectifying minor defects before products leave the factory
- Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Preparing finished furniture for packing and dispatch
- Working alongside joiners, machinists and other members of the production team
- Ensuring finished products meet the required quality standards
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
The Person
We are keen to speak with candidates who have experience in furniture assembly, furniture manufacturing, bench joinery, cabinet making, shopfitting or a similar hands-on manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:
- Good practical and hands-on skills
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail
- A good eye for quality and finishing
- Experience assembling furniture, cabinetry or joinery products
- The ability to work from drawings or instructions
- A reliable and positive approach to work
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience within bespoke furniture, shopfitting, cabinet making or bench joinery would be particularly advantageous.
